Stalking

Drawn with the aid of stock from the magnificent . I don't use references for my work very often, and I probably ought to.

This is moderately boring, really, but it's lineart for part of a picture I'll be contributing to 's DevArt calendar this fall. I'm very flattered to have been asked to share space with the wonderful artists she has on board (and I get a free copy of the calendar, which means I'll have print copies of their art too! Mwah hahaha!).

As you might be able to tell from the boots, this is Braydon again. The truth is, I've had a horrible spell of art block lately. It happens every so often--these things go in cycles for me--but seeing as she wants the art for the calendar in August (and I know how long I take to do coloring), it was poorly timed. She said we could submit something we've already done, but it has to be in landscape dimensions (wider than it is high), and I have no finished work like that, nor any lineart lurking around begging me to color it.

After thinking about it for nearly a month, I eventually realized that while my inspiration for original stuff is low, I still feel in the mood to draw my various characters that no one really wants to hear about. So I finally decided, screw it, I'll use one of them. Braydon got volunteered on grounds that skulking pirate-assassins (and the Iron Kingdoms in general) tend to be pretty photogenic and require no real understanding of the details to appreciate. Man, I love illustrating IK. *hugs the gothic steampunk*

I originally planned to do something with autumny colors, but this may turn out to be a bit darker than I expected, possibly even with some evil green depending on how motivated I feel in drawing his intended target. Nothing too outre, though. Since I have no idea what the other artists will be submitting or who all may end up looking at these pictures, I'm going to stay well-behaved.
