Islene

Character portrait for a friend of mine. Islene is a role-playing character (as usual)--a Gunmage from the Iron Kingdoms game.

Normally I clean up my drawings a bit with Photoshop: bleach out the page, tweak the darkness of the pencil, that sort of thing. But I decided not to do it this time. No real reason, exactly--just to be a bit different, to preserve the shading of the pencils, be honest about my stray lines, and maybe because I kind of like the texture of the paper.

What I've learned: Well...her hair. The pose was very unusual, and that was very much on purpose. I'm trying to expand my understanding of the human form and stretch my abilities some. I'm sorta proud of her coat, and of her belt.
