Been out of the art-groove again since...um, June? July? Whenever I posted my last thing here. I had a brief bout of Final Fantasy-itis, but that passed. Since then, I haven't even been able to get past the initial having of an idea before I lose interest.

It's taken me this long to figure out why: all my ideas lately are either beyond my current abilities, or else they bore me with their repetitiveness. I want to do something *different.* I don't even know what that means, exactly, but I know I feel dissatisfied with my current style, let alone with my usual subjects. Boring boring boring!

Clearly, then, the solution is to learn some new skills. I've begun doodling around with tutorials and workshops, and while so far none of it has resulted in anything I even care to save, let alone post, it feels more satisfying than anything I've thought of doing in months.

I suppose this happens to everybody sometimes. Hopefully it'll result in changes in my work to something I like better. My favorite piece ever is probably "Rain." I'd love it if my usual work started turning out a bit more like that.

:B mmm I have a comment/question/request?
I was wondering If you knew how Tarrant's Medallion looked like in book one... I've been meaning to draw it but I don't have the first book so I can't look up the description...

Talking to the nerds;
Nerd: I LOVE sex!
Steph: You don't even know what that is.....
:iconbluesrat:
The medallion is round, thin, and made of gold. On one side it's a picture of Earth. The other side, Damien surmises, is some sort of mark representing the Hunter, but it's never described. Tarrant wears it Earth-side up. He keeps the other hidden. For that matter, he normally wears it inside his tunic, so it's not typically visible at all.

Sadly, I didn't even have to look that up. :D
